I had my follow-up with my surgeon today. He said that because there is no visible cancer, technically I'm in "remission." It's not "cancer free," but it's headed in the right direction.
He's going to talk to my oncologist at Georgetown this week and they will decide my dosage of chemotherapy for the next 3 months or so. I imagine that the dosage will be reduced from what I had over the winter because back then I was trying to shrink tumors. Now, I'm just trying to kill some cancer cells that may or may not be in me.
Not there yet...but inching closer. :-) Strike that... :'-)

AWESOME!
Dude! That's excellent! Kick that cancer in the jimmy!
Great news, young Jedi! Consider myself kicked.
Just finished reading posts since last visit in April ... good to recap all that's gone on (email and phone calls and blogs are truly wonderful comm. tools) - see where you've been and where you're going - a good thing especially as you gear up for that next Scope It Out 5K! Oh and not having to stick it to yourself has to rate up there as an all-time high, yes? Kids say HI and are so glad you're doing well.
Mom is in town starting Tuesday (5-29Aug)...can she come visit? :)
And speaking of losing 75 lbs over the course of 10 months ... yes, there are people that WANT to do that - and some that actually do (usually after a bariatric bypass).
All have our demons - and you definitely have a blessings with the "remission."
WOOHOO!
Time to celebrate...catch you at work soon (pun intended:)
That is so awesome!!! :)
Congrats - that's simply great news.
Looking forward to Saturday! :)
