Second go-around

Today is my 2nd time for a chemo treatment. I made it through the first 2-week session!!! (We are doing a 12-week program to start.) It hasn't been all peachy keen...there were unpleasant obstacles (vomiting, insomnia, "the runs"), but I made it. I only hope that the cancer is having a worse time of it than I am. I'll find that out in a few weeks when we do a CAT scan to see just how the cancer is reacting to the chemo.

In the meantime, wish me luck on my next two week treatment starting today! Try not to call for a few days. I'll be out of it, as I'll most likely feel like I was run over by a really big, Tonka truck.

Shawn,

On behalf of the DIA MIKEN JAYS SOFTBALL TEAM (FAMILY) , we want you to know that we are here to help you in anyway possible. I know the treatments are taking alot out of you but, whenever you are ready let me know and I'll get something together so we can go hit somewhere. Maybe it would help you vent alittle. So let me know if there is something that I can help with.
Take care,
Donnie

ANd if anoone knows about venting, it's Donnie! Seriously though, I have both of my sisters going through cancer now. My older sister has lung cancer (stage 4) and the younger one has breast cancer (stage 2). All I can do is offer my support and help if you need it. We are with you buddy. Stay strong.

Been thinking about you, Shawn. It was GREAT to see you on Monday...I can only imagine the difference between how you felt then and how you're feeling right now after your 2nd round yesterday. Saw Dave Lester at work today - he's back working in OGT. Passed him and others (like Donnie up above) your contact, blog and team sites. Ciao for now...clc:)

Dear Shawn, I am so very sorry to hear of your battle with colon cancer! Chiqutta told me about it... I want you to know that I have begun to pray for your healing, stamina, courage, and hope! I am not going to be praying for your sense of humor as it looks strong! As you might recall, I dealt with colon cancer (Stage 2) just over (!) five years ago and have just passed that crucial mark. I thank and praise The Lord Jesus. I had the surgery then the chemo. Brother, pls let me know how I can help. God Bless you, my friend! Truly, Craig Day

Was it a big yellow Tonka Truck? I think that's the one that hit me! Of course it had the opposite effect on me...it left me with a big fat gut that I can't seem to get rid of. I'll trade ya!
:-)
Keep smiling buddy. Every day is a victory.

Keep fighting Shawn. When I think of something better than "I'm making cancer my bitch" you'll be the first I tell!!
